Kips Bay SH, New York City {Street Floor Level}

Street Level Bliss
Welcome to the 2010 Kips Bay Showhouse

Home and ecstatic to write!! Girls trip to NYC was a success! Emily and I were met by perfectly sunny skies and crisp city air. We had a blast and encountered plenty of wonderful adventures! Top on the list of course is our visit to the annual extremely anticipated, Kips Bay showhouse displaying 20 top designers work. The only way I think I can display this house best is by breaking it down by each floor. Have to preface by saying I can't tell you enough how much this house absolutely positively rocks your socks off while you are standing in it and NONE of the following pictures do it justice, no matter how lovely they are. With that being said let's get this drool session started...

The 10,000 square-foot limestone mansion {located in Upper East Side only 3 blocks from Central Park} seemed as merely an illusion of the perfect city chic abode. But alas not an illusion instead a tangible invitation to endless posh worthy rooms awaiting my eyes arrival. Wait no longer you beauty, Mallorie and Em are here...

The front doors open to the dramatic entryway, suited brilliantly for such a space. Setting the stage for the rest of the house this entryway donning Katie Rider wallpaper is the ideal stamp of personality. The brightly painted trim sports Benjamin Moore "Autumn Cover" paint color ..perfect for the season we are in.

Just off the entryway is a petite room designed by Brett Design Inc. The wild snakeskin patterned wallpaper is part of Brett Design's unique collection of transparent wallpapers.

Down the hall at the back of the house is the kitchen and eating room. Dressing the room in purple, {one of the most hot and up in coming colors right now in interior design} Eve Robinson Associates captivated it beautifully and carefully in this space. Balancing the purple hues out with clean white trim and white cabinets was definitely the ticket here in my opinion.

Just off the kitchen and eating area is a door to the outside patio and lawn area. Gorgeously adorned with draped twinkle lights the length of the porch and the mirror surrounded lawn below is a fairytale spot for dining or an intimate party. This wraps up the street level floor of the showhouse. Have so so much more to show you so STAY TUNED... it will only get better and better as we move up each floor in the house! Check back soon... ;)

Kisses
